On the island of Sentosa all roads gently meander, and relaxation descends as you enter the 'slow lane' and wind through the tropical rainforest, climbing the hillside. Here, cooled by the sea breeze, our resort has the feel of a botanical garden, heralded by a historic ficus tree at the entrance – a tree-hugger's dream, standing for over 100 years – to welcome you to our beautiful sanctuary. Take a moment to pause and breathe in the bucolic embrace of nature. Sentosa is home to a rich abundance of flora and fauna, including peacocks that wander at will, white-collared kingfishers and long-tailed macaques. Our lush vegetation includes a variety of native plants such as sea hibiscus, tropical hardwood trees and mangroves, creating a thriving ecosystem waiting to be discovered.
The design
Set in an unspoilt, lush landscape overlooking the South China Sea, Raffles Sentosa Singapore was designed by international studio Yabu Pushelberg who harmonised the history of Singapore with its present-day cultural nuances to create a effortlessly flowing, modern resort experience, in tune with guests' contemporary lives. The design develops organically, as you move through each space and gradually become immersed in the island's serene natural landscape and closer to a sense of home.
