Artful inspiration

The lobby on level two is a showstopper where the lines are blurred between inside and out, as natural light flows gracefully into the hotel. In this garden sanctuary, interior and exterior come together into one stunning space to induce a sense of complete calm, while also awakening the imagination. Here you will encounter a collection of art pieces thoughtfully curated by Ode to Art around a four seasons theme. These multidimensional artworks pay tribute to the beauty of Asian nature and Raffles' illustrious history since 1887, and can be experienced differently at night or during the day from a variety of angles. Ode to Art engaged artists from around the world, including Latchezar Boyadjiev, famed for his glass work; internationally acclaimed sculptor Joris Kuipers; Sun Yu-Li, one of Singapore’s leading artists, and award-winning Chinese artist Chen Chun Hua.

Awe-inspiring sense of arrival

On arrival at Raffles you are invited to the Crystal Lobby, a temple of crystal inspiration. All eyes are immediately drawn to a shimmering gazebo and architectural dome made of 380,000 precision-cut, fine crystals and more than 146,000 individually programmed points of light. Through this stunning masterpiece of art and engineering, light dances playfully with the crystals to create a brilliant technicolour spectacle. It is a remarkable display of light, colour and sound made even more magical when the ceiling morphs and reconfigures – all beautifully choreographed to music, with fountain effects.

A garden sanctuary

The 70-metre green art wall in the lobby, and all of the spectacular green spaces throughout the hotel, have been designed by Hong Kong landscape architects Earthasia, experts in architecture, botany, ecology, geography, horticulture and fine art. Step into an immersive urban forest setting where green art pieces – filled with living plants – grace the walls and an inviting garden sanctuary awaits. Evoking the four seasons, Raffles at Galaxy Macau is home to 90 trees such as the 8m Phoenix Palm, thousands of seasonal flowers, from the begonia to the Madagascan periwinkle, and 50,000 shrubs. Here, the beauty of nature takes centre stage in a sustainable design that conserves energy and water, and reduces carbon.
